Day 2 (16/06/10) – Westside Village
Well after a nice Italian last night, it was decided that myself and Neil would go for an early morning jog. So at 7.15am my door buzzer starts ringing and there stands Neil, iPod headphones in and ready to go, I was less enthusiastic… but we went on our way. Turns out that the 19years Neil spent in the RAF meant that despite having almost 20 years on me, he pretty much wiped the floor with me. 30 minutes into the run along Village Road up to the Steigenberger hotel, I had to stop. Oh well, I managed to catch my breath for 5 minutes whilst Neil continued on. After the run, I went and bought myself a cap from the Egypt Store just across the road from Little Buddha Bar, it only cost me around £4; hopefully this will keep the intensity of the Sun off my head for the week. 35 Egyptian, Bargain.
We headed back to the hotel and grabbed some breakfast before heading out to Westside Village with Ehab to visit the apartment that we are furnishing for a client. We met with the site manager and went into the apartment. Neil was in his element masterminding a kitchen design that would maximise space and style. Whilst there, the site manager passed Neil his phone and on the other end was Mr. Adley, the owner of Westside Village and The Marlin Inn Hotel amongst other things. Mr. Adley wanted to meet with us the morning after at 10am, we left the site and had about an hour spare before we had to pick up two brothers interested in the furniture packages we provide. We grabbed a bite to eat at Hardee’s and then picked them both up from the car park across the road from the Aqua Fun Club Hotel.
Ehab was driving and we went to Sahl Hasheesh to view several apartments that we have furnished in Sunset Pearl. After spending around an hour looking at the apartments, the two brothers seemed very impressed and we are hopeful of working with them in the coming months.
After dropping the brothers back at their hotel, we went straight on to a potential showroom that we are considering using as a base in Egypt to show and store the solid wooden furniture that we provide. It is an ideal size yet still needs finishing. The engineer is going to put together a quote on total costs and get back to us.
That evening myself and Neil went to the Thai Garden for food, just a few doors down past Little Buddha. After this we then went on to the Marina to meet Ehab at Papas Bar for a few drinks and more discussions over his new development in Sahl Hasheesh, Mamma Mia.
We did not get back to the Soly Mar hotel until around 12am. It has been a long yet productive day. Looking forward to tomorrow.
