Having to travel to Egypt many times a year, we have had the chance to try quite a few hotels, from the 5 star all inclusive to the small 3 star B and B’s. I wanted to write a review on my favourite hotel and it isn’t a 5 star all inclusive beach front one.

Review

I have to say the staff at the Sol-Y-Mar Hotel are some of the friendliest hotel staff I have ever met, nothing is too much trouble.  The rooms aren’t normal hotel rooms, they are spacious apartments with kitchenette, dining area, separate bedroom, large bathrooms, flat screen LCD TV’s and free WiFi.  The breakfast is substantial and more than enough to set you up for the day, it’s only continental but you can have omelettes and crepes.

There is a small bar and lounge area plus small swimming pool with a children’s paddling pool, several sun loungers, with planted raised flower beds around the pool area. They are also in partnership with Iberotel Aquamarine and offer the chance to use their private beach with a shuttle bus leaving every morning from reception (local fees apply).

The cleaning staff are fantastic and what they do with the towels in your room is going to be the feature of another Blog, keep looking because they do some amazing things.

Location

This small 4 star hotel is located in the El Kawser district, and  just 2 km from Hurghada’s city centre and a 5-minute walk from the bustling promenade, offering a peaceful and relaxing base close to local amenities.
